To burn in the Vernon area it requires you to have a Burn Permit issued by the Vernon Fire District. This permit is free of charge and you can obtain one by coming to the Vernon Fire Administration Office during business hours

The Emergency Lockbox Program is designed to allow firefighters and emergency medical services personnel to potentially gain faster access and limit damage to homes and businesses during emergencies when no one is available or physically able to open the door.

Tender Volunteer Program
Volunteer/non-paid-Tender/Water Truck Drivers. Help give back to our local community with distinction. Training is available at no cost. Basic requirements: Must be able to pass a background and drug test, a medical review, and have a clean driving record.

-NO OPEN FIRES of any kind are prohibited, including campfires, charcoal grills, and wood stoves.
-Smoking is also restricted, except within enclosed vehicles or buildings.
-Additionally, using internal combustion engines, welding, and other activities involving open flames are also restricted.
