Meet the Vernon Fire District

Chief John Connolly brings with him more than two decades of experience and leadership in the fire service, having served with the City of La Verne Fire Department and more recently with the City of Calimesa Fire Department. He holds a bachelor’s degree from California State at Long Beach and is a certified Paramedic. 

Deputy Chief Mike Norman has been with the Vernon Fire District since 2018. He has served as Operations Chief and is now Deputy Chief over communications for the district. He is also a Communications Unit Leader and manages large Wild land Fire Communications Unit across the lower 48 and Alaska.

Battalion Chief Kevin Vickers has been with the Vernon Fire District since 2019. Prior to his promotion, he served as a Captain with Vernon Fire and served with the Eagar Fire Department as an engineer. He holds multiple fire, EMS, and wildland certificates including Engine Boss.
