How can I provide information about the arson fires?

How many fires are being investigated?

All fires are investigated once they have been extinguished. Since December 27, 2024, Vernon Fire has responded to 10 structure fires of those 7 are being investigated for arson.

What can I do to help?

Be vigilant. If you see something suspicious, let Vernon Fire or Apache County Sheriff's Department know. Take a picture and email it to us. DON'T share it on social media.

Check on your neighbors and let them know if you're leaving town so they can keep an eye on your property.

Will there be another community meeting?

Yes. We are currently coordinating a meeting and will post on our website, social media, and provide flyers to local businesses when it will be held.

What area have the fires been?

They have primarily been in the area of Stanford Road and CR 8050 (Ponderosa)
